Annual Chili Cook-Off
Preparation for the 8th Annual Star Chamber Chili Cook-Off has begun! Team, sponsorship, pie-eating contest and volunteer registration is now open. Tasting tickets will be available for advance purchase soon.

Come put your tastebuds to the test
Indulge in an impressive selection of chili samples at the Star Riverhouse by the Boise River in Star, Idaho, on October 3, 2026. Get your fill of chili by tasting over 20 unique recipes, all cooked from scratch and on-site. From mild and savory to bold and spicy, there is a chili for everyone to enjoy. Guests can taste chili beginning at noon and vote for their favorite team in the People’s Choice competition. Popular teams often run out early, so arrive early to experience the full event and sample as many recipes as possible.

Whether you are competing for fun, community bragging rights, or a shot at cash prizes and trophies, the Star Chamber Chili Cook-Off has a category for everyone. Teams enter the People’s Choice competition and let the public decide who serves the best chili, and can take it to the next level by entering the officially judged sanctioned categories. The top three teams in each category will receive awards and cash prizes.
2026 marks the eighth year of the Star Chamber Chili Cook-Off, and in 2024 the event became an officially sanctioned International Chili Society competition — bringing ICS judges, qualifying opportunities, and even more excitement to this growing community tradition.
Challenge your competitive eating skills
Do you love pie and don’t mind getting a little messy? Then, the Star Chamber Chili Cook-Off Pie-Eating contest is for you! Contestants will compete to see who can eat the most pie in three minutes, without using their hands. The contest is free to enter, and winners in each age group will receive an official 2026 Chili Cook-off Pie-Eating Contest Winner medal. Space is limited in each division, so be sure to register early to reserve your spot!
Help out and volunteer
It takes an amazing team of volunteers to help make the Star Chamber Chili Cook-Off and Brewfest a fun, welcoming, and successful event for everyone. Volunteers help with setup, ticket and merchandise sales, pouring beer, teardown, and more giving our competitors and attendees the opportunity to fully enjoy the day. Whether you can help for a couple hours or longer, we would love to have you join us. As a thank you, volunteers who work a two-hour shift will receive a free tasting ticket to enjoy the event.
